“Corpus” brings together a group of 8 figurative artists who are deeply committed to the traditions of drawing the human figure and portrait from direct observation, while fearlessly pursuing their own artistic paths. United by a reverence for the practices of the old masters, these artists build upon this rich legacy, each adding their unique voice and vision to the depiction of the human form.

The title “Corpus,” meaning “body” in Latin, speaks directly to the central focus of the exhibition: the human figure. It highlights both the physicality of the body and the deeper essence captured through drawing and painting. The artists in this exhibition engage with the corpus not just as a form to be replicated, but as a subject to be explored, understood, and reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. With a variety of materials and approaches, their work celebrates both the enduring beauty of observational techniques and the dynamic energy of modern expression, emphasizing the body as both a vessel of identity and a canvas for artistic exploration
