Since 2003, we have been proud to offer art classes to students in the Montreal area.
We also offer online art classes, and professional training for tattoo artists and gaming artists.
Fall 2024
New! Life Drawing
Registration is now open for a 6 week evening Life Drawing course with live model. Develop your skills to represent the human body with accuracy and volume. We will discuss: Figure construction, proportions and volumes in the body, light effect and tonal rendering, drawing from a long pose. Suitable for students of all levels.
Offered on Friday Evenings, November 15 - December 20.
New Course! Learn to Draw
In our Learn to Draw course, you’ll learn fundamental drawing concepts such as line quality, proportion, perspective, and light and shadow. In just 4 weeks, you'll learn to draw! This course is for absolute beginners. No prior drawing experience is required.
Offered on Thursday and Friday Evenings.

Study Art With Us
Our traditional program of drawing and painting classes are for students of all levels: beginners through professionals. Our courses can help professionals to solidify their traditional skills; many of our students are professionals in the fields of video game art, illustration, graphic design, and tattoo artistry. Beginners can also excel in our art classes, as they learn good drawing habits from the start.
Our instructors offer individual instruction and small classes sizes.
For absolute beginners, we offer a Learn to Draw course.
New students with some experience begin with Cast Drawing; returning students may choose from other Atelier courses in drawing, painting, and anatomical drawing and more.

FAQ #1: I AM A BEGINNER, HOW DO I START?
We welcome students of all levels. New students who have no prior drawing experience can begin with Learn to Draw. This course is offered during our evening sessions (no prior experience needed!).
If you are new to the Atelier, with some prior drawing experience, you can start with Cast Drawing. This is the mandatory first drawing class at the Atelier. We introduce several important principles of drawing that can be applied to any subject drawn from observation. Students learn to make accurate drawings and render them to achieve a strong 3-D effect by studying exemplary casts of Renaissance and Classical sculpture.
All students must demonstrate satisfactory completion of this course before continuing with other Atelier courses. This course is offered on any of our teaching days.
FAQ #2: WHEN DO YOU OFFER DRAWING AND PAINTING CLASSES?
Our teaching philosophy focuses on detailed individual instruction and mentorship within a small class size. Through this approach, we are able to accept new students to start studying with us at any time throughout the year. Our courses are offered in 4 week sessions, and you may choose the days of the week that you wish to study with us. We also frequently offer evening classes, and specialized classes (such as Landscape Painting en plein-air, Life Drawing with a live model) and workshops.

FAQ #3: HOW DOES YOUR PRICING WORK?
Our daytime classes run from 9:30-4:00pm. Our evening classes run from 6:30-9:30pm. All classes are offered as a 4 week session, and you may choose the days of the week that you wish to study with us. We also offer online classes (3 hours/week), and specialized workshops.
Here is our pricing for daytime classes (9:30-4:00pm) for a 4 week session:
1 day per week (24 hours of instruction): $425. taxes inc.
2 days per week (48 hours of instruction): $800. taxes inc.
3 days per week (72 hours of instruction): $1100. taxes inc.
Our evening classes (12 hours of instruction) are $225 taxes inc. for a 4 week session.
Our online classes (12 hours of instruction) are $225 taxes inc. for a 4 week session.
